“This recipe marries the ever popular burger with a bit of curry and the sweet tartness of mango chutney. For a change, serve on/in a pita. Can be barbecued or pan-fried. The recipe comes from Chatelaine magazine.”

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Oil grill and preheat bbq to "medium".
  2. Mix chutney, oil, curry powder and salt in a large bowl. Crumble in the chicken.
  3. Sprinkle with coriander and gently mix together with your hands or a fork.
  4. Shape into 4 burgers. Make a depression in the middle of each burger, with your thumb, so they don't "puff up".
  5. Place on grill and barbecue with the lid closed until cooked through. This usually takes 5-8 minutes per side.
  6. Serve on buns or pitas.
  7. Alternately, pan fry over medium heat in an oil-coated, covered skillet 5-6 minutes per side. They should be brown & firm to the touch. (you may have to lower your heat to med-low, if they brown too quickly).
