Lindsey's Apple-Cranberry Holiday Jello

- 20 ounces crushed pineapple
- 1⁄2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 red apple, diced (she didn't specify peeled or not)
- 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
- 2 3⁄4 cups water (enough with pineapple juice to make 3 cups)
directions
- Strain pineapple, reserving juice.
- Place drained pineapple and diced apples into a container. Stir well. Cover and place in fridge. [Note: The acidity of the pineapple will keep the apples from browning.].
- Add enough water to the pineapple juice to make 3 cups of liquid. Pour into a saucepan.
- Bring pineapple juice/water to a boil then add the jell-o gelatin. Stir until completely dissolved, about a minute or two.
- Pour into a serving bowl and place in fridge.
- After about 90 minutes, stir in the fruit/cranberries.
- Refrigerate for another hour.

<p>Aloha! I just recently started spending more time in the kitchen and am learning that cooking and baking can be fun as well as challenging. Mahalo nui loa! <br /><br />My rating system: The first time I try a recipe, I follow the instructions as given; if I do a little tweaking, I keep that in mind when rating. It's not right to rate lower because of something I did or didn't do. <br />***** ... Excellent! Tasted great with/without tweaking. <br />**** ... Loved It! Tasted great with/without tweaking. <br />No stars ... May be an excellent recipe but I was unable to get it to work for me. May or may not try again later. We don't all have the same taste preferences. I've found recipes with lots of five stars that just didn't work for me and some with less that I thought were great. <br />Thank you All for sharing!</p>
