"This is an old fund-raiser cookbook from a local theatre company, Characters Incorporated, here in Saint John, NB. I don't know who this recipe is from, but it's the favourite around my work, friends and family...Enjoy!"

ingredients

2 ¹⁄₄ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup margarine (room temp.)
³⁄₄ cup sugar
³⁄₄ cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
¹⁄₂ teaspoon water
2 eggs
1 (8 ounce) package milk chocolate chips

directions

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Combine margarine, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and water. Beat until creamy.
Beat in 2 eggs.
Add flour mixture, mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. I like mine chewy, so sometimes it's less than 10 minutes.
