- 2 cups macaroni
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pepper
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
- breadcrumbs (optional)
directions
- cook macaroni in salted water, drain.
- melt butter and flour.
- add milk until heated, not boiling.
- add in seasonings, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- melt in cheese, slowly.
- pour into greased dish.
- lightly cover with breadcrumbs if desired.
- place into oven at 375 for 30 min or until lightly brown and bubbling nicely.
- cool for 5-10 and serve.
