  1. I've always been a fan of my MIL's macaroni salad, and this one is VERY similar... thank you so much for posting such an easy and yummy recipe! The only change I made was that I omitted the olives - only because I didn't have any on hand, and my salad still turned out great! In fact, it's on the menu for the second time in two weeks! Yep, it's THAT good! :)

  2. This Macaroni Salad looks just like the one my family makes but we don't use Miracle Whip we use Mayo and omit the sugar and relish. It is not sweet at all but it has a very good taste, especially with the green olives. And the texture is awesome...mmmmm.<br/>Thanks for posting the recipe, I can't find mine :)

  3. I used this recipe, with a few revisions, for our 4th of July dinner. I didn't have olives, so I used a veggie peeler to add carrot curls to the salad for color and crunch. I also added some shredded cheddar cheese, chopped broccoli and crumbled bacon. Delicious!

  4. You are right Barbara. This is very good. Thanks for the recipe. I also added green peas, cheddar cheese, pickled jalepeno, and a little more mustard. Excellent recipe.

  5. Excellent easy recipe -better than any deli-very creamy. I used 2 large stalks of celery and 1 medium onion diced. I might halve the recipe next time when serving to just the family as this makes a huge amount of salad.

Tweaks

  1. We loved this macaroni salad! So glad I found it here. It reminds me of my grandmother's. Course, she could never give me the recipe cause she never wrote anything down. I even went ahead at the last minute and added the green olives, and I liked them! I did use light mayo instead of Miracle Whip, but all else the same. Yummy, thanks for posting.
