Make-Ahead Salad

"This salad looks odd but what good flavor it has. Real easy too! I had it for the first time last summer at a picnic and had to ask for the recipe. I am not sure of the serving amounts. (Prep time includes fridge time.)"

  1. The taste was good, but boy was it soggy and the bottom of the bowl was really liquidy. I would definitely not make it a day ahead next time.

  2. My aunt has been making this recipe for nearly 20 years. We weren't crazy for it the first time we tried it, but it soon became one of the best loved family recipies! It is at every function where food is involved, every holiday, every season. Please try this, you won't be dissappointed. The only difference between this one & ours is we add raw broccoli too! yummmm.....now I'm going to be craving it!

  3. This salad rocks! I fell in love with it after a friend brought it to a potluck dinner. This is the exact same recipe and people go crazy for it every time I make it. Definitely a winner!

  4. i followed the recipe exactly as written, except for cutting everything in half. This was a very tasty and refreshing salad, especially if you like the taste of raw cauliflower. Served it to 3 and all enjoyed it. A definite keeper, and will make again. thanks for posting.

  5. This is an excellent salad. I haven't made it myself, but I did a progressive dinner over the weekend and it's the same exact recipe for a salad we were served. It has a sweet taste that makes it a little different from a typical salad with mayonnaise. Everyone had to have the recipe for it after we tasted it!

Hi! My husband, four children and I live in NY. I think my love of cooking and eating?is in my blood. My Grandma (who was 100% Norweigan) was a wonderful cook and my mom & sisters are as well. I really enjoy baking the most. If I had some time off I would bake and look for more new recipes to try!
