  • In a large saucepan, bring honey to a boil. Remove from the heat.
  • Stir a small amount of the hot honey into the eggs; return all to the pan, stirring constantly.
  • Bring to a gentle boil; gently stir in the butter, vanilla, pecans and nutmeg.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until filling is set.

  1. Interesting and different pie. Reminded us of baklava but in a custard similar to pecan pie. We preferred this pie chilled. I used wildflower honey and pecans, but think regular clover honey would be better. Walnuts would be good as well. Next time I'd prebake crust for 10 minutes before adding filling. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
