Mama's Brownies

"These are my families favorite Brownies. The outside edges are chewy and the inside almost fudgy. There is always a battle over the edges LOL They usually fall in the middle so don't worry about that . Bake time is approximate I like to take them out while they are still almost undercooked."

  1. Aww, wicky, these are wonderful- chocolatey and delicious! I made these with DS and he really enjoyed helping; he couldn't wait for them to be ready - me either! I used a glass 9 X 9 baking dish and cooked for 30 minutes @ 350 degrees; I did add about 1/2 cup of walnuts, and I will need to make these again...soon and often! Thanks for sharing!

  2. *Made for Australia/NZ Swap #32* Oh, Yummy ! haven't made brownies for a VERY long time ! (Won't happen again!) Did not add nuts, personal preference, and discovered as I took them out of the oven, that I had missed the vanilla ! NO problem ! I baked for 25 minutes, and let sit in the oven 5 more -- will likely take them out at 25 next time ! Used 1 TBsp of BLACK cocoa with the rest -- and cut the sugar to 3/4 cup. REALLY good ! Thanks, wicked cook 46 !

  3. Loved...loved these simple, easy to make brownies. They were fantastic...chewy and delicious and gone before I could even take a picture. My dh & friends polished off the rest of the pan, while I was gone for my camera. They were the best brownies that I have tried in a long time...can't wait to make them with nuts. Thanks so much for posting this treasure.

  4. This very occasional brownies-and-biscuits-maker found this recipe so wonderfully easy to make! :) These delicious brownies are going to be great lunchtime treats 'til they run out, and I can certainly see myself making them again - SOON and often. I used butter and halved the sugar (personal taste preferences) and added chopped macadamias. Thank you for sharing this delightful recipe, wicked cook! Made for Zaar Stars Tag.

  5. Very simple to make, and simple to eat because these were so sweet and savory all at once. I had some real nice walnuts, so used these. Oh just so yummy and a delight to partake. I used some extra fine sugar (ground in the food processor) and this made the brownies so smooth. Great recipe, and will use this often for Saturday lunches! Made for *Everyday is a Holiday* July 2009
