Maple Bars

"I don't remember where I got this recipe but it is so good. I get asked to make these and they are always gone fast. You could sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the icing if you wanted. The icing would also be good on a cake."

  1. YUM - Need I say more!!!

  2. I baked them as written and it couldn't be easier. Loved that I didn't have to deal with deep frying. They were soft and so good!

  3. Wow! These are absolutely fantastic! Only changes I made were to use butter instead of shortening, add a bit more flour to make a workable dough, and then cut dough into 18 pieces. Iced while warm. Was a bit concerned they'd be underdone at 7 minutes but they were perfectly tender. Easier than cinnamon rolls and a nice change. My husband suggested using the dough for kolaches, which I may have to try. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  5. Delicious! Moist inside, the frosting is PERFECT! I fried mine in vegetable oil instead of baking and the family LOVED them! This will be my go-to recipe from now on!
