Ingredients: 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips; 1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips; 2 cups margarine or 2 cups butter; 1 cup peanut butter; 1 (12 ounce) can cocktail peanuts; 1/2 cup evaporated milk; 1 (3 ounce) package vanilla pudding mix (not instant); 1 (2 lb) package powdered sugar; 2 teaspoons maple flavoring

ingredients

1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
2 cups margarine or 2 cups butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 (12 ounce) can cocktail peanuts
¹⁄₂ cup evaporated milk
1 (3 ounce) package vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
1 (2 lb) package powdered sugar
2 teaspoons maple flavoring

directions

Line 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil. Butter or spray foil with nonstick cooking spray.
In large saucepan, melt chocolate chops and 1 cup of the margarine over low heat, stirring frequently. Remove saucepan from heat. Add peanut butter; mix well.
Spread half of mixture in buttered foil-lined pan. Freeze 10 minutes or until set. Place pan in refrigerator.
Meanwhile, stir peanuts into remaining chocolate mixture. Set aside.
Melt remaining 1 cup margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Stir in pudding mix. Cook until mixture is slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Do not boil. Remove saucepan from heat. Add powdered sugar and maple flavor; mix well. Cool about 10 minutes or until slightly cooled.
Carefully spread pudding mixture over chilled chocolate layer. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
Stir reserved chocolate-peanut mixture. Drop by spoonfuls onto chilled pudding layer; spread to cover. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or until firm. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

YUM! These are the best - my friend's all time favorite thing I have ever made for her. I have been making these for years - I got the recipe from Midwest Living Magazine some years ago. This makes a lot, and I always cut them in about 1 inch squares because they are rich, rich, rich. I make them exactly as listed here and they have always turned out excellent. These are great for gift giving in a small tin packed with some crumpled waxed paper. They are really more of a candy than a traditional bar type sweet. High recommended and thanks for posting!

I am married and mother of 3 wonderful children. I have a 21 year old daughter and 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl. The picture above is of my granddaughter Destiny born April 5, 2007. She was a preemie and weighed 1 lb. 14 oz. at birth. She spent 73 days in NICU in the hospital She has came a long way and was 11 months and a little over 19 pounds when the picture was taken. She shows no problems at all now and is truly a miracle and I thank God for her. She is already Nana's little girl. I have a wonderful husband who is very honest with me about any dish I prepare. He is my best critic as I am sure most husbands tend to be. I love trying new recipes and love to cook. I love Taste of Home cookbooks. I like to do counted cross-stitch and recently I have rediscovered a lost love of mine; reading, especially mysteries. I can get lost in a good book for hours. Weather permitting my hubby and I like to ride on his Harley. Nothing like it! If I had a month off with no responsibilities I would travel. Love the beach!!!
