Maple Roasted Carrots

"This is my family's favorite way to eat cooked carrots. Cook time depends greatly on the thickness of the carrot pieces. Definitely increase the amount of maple syrup if you like your carrots sweet--I always do."

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Combine ingredients in a ziplock bag and shake well to combine.
  • Spray a baking pan with non stick spray and add carrots in a single layer.
  • Roast carrots in the preheated oven, stirring every ten minutes until desired softness is reached.

  1. Lovely easy recipe that adds flavor to the carrots. I par boiled them for 4 minutes and then they only required 20 minutes in the oven with the maple syrup A do again recipe
     
  2. Wow. This was great! I followed the recipe exactly but I added 6 tablespoons of pure maple syrup. They were delicious. This recipe is a keeper!! It was easy. Thanks.
     
  3. I forgot to grease the baking pan and it didn't stick to it. And I didn't shake in a ziplock. I put everything in the pan and stirred it well. This was a hit with DS. 3 times he asked to have more carrots LOL Thanks :) Made for the Babes of ZWT4

  5. I had to boil some eggs so put my carrots in a sieve and let them share the hot water to cut down on the oven time. They were still crunchy when I took them out, and transfered them to the oven dish with the addition of maple syrup. We liked these... our fussy kids prefered the plain ones I'd put aside, but DH and I polished off the maple ones no problem at all. Please see my Rating System: 4 wonderful stars for this one. We are not used to (and also don't prefer) really sweet vegetables so for us the rule of thumb was: use as little of the maple syrup as you can get away with, and surprisingly we managed with 1.5 tablespoons without a problem coated all the carrots and there was some to spare in the bottom of the oven dish. A nice treat for a tasty way to serve carrots. Thanks!
