  1. I made this for my Grandma's 86th birthday party. I topped it with a butter cream icing. I received mixed reviews some loved it, others thought it was just okay. It was very heavy, plus it called for A LOT of butter. I think in the future I would opt for a lighter recipe.

  2. I made this for a gathering the other day. I wanted to take a picture to post, but it was gone too quickly! It was a beautiful cake, I put a chocolate ganache with kalua and creme de cacao liquer as a filling and left it as is with out icing it. I also added a little zest as I saw other marble cake recipes that called for it. Use a good brand of chocolate and cake flour for a high quality cake. Thanks so much for the recipe! Next time I'll photograph it BEFORE I set it out ;)

  3. For his birthday, my husband asked for a marble cake and luckily I found this recipe. Everyone raved about this cake and loved it. I followed the recipe exactly except adding extra flour for altitude and putting chocolate frosting on it. It was fairly easy for a homemade cake and it took exactly 50 mins to bake. This is a crowd pleaser.
