- 8 eggs
- 2 tablespoons chinese black tea
- 2 star anise
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups boiling water
directions
- Boil eggs for 10 minutes.
- Soak eggs in cold water until cold.
- Crack the eggs shells-DO NOT SHELL; set aside while preparing sauce.
- Pour boiling water into chinese black tea; let stand for 5 minutes.
- Pour tea into a saucepan (straining out tea leaves); add soy sauce, star anise, and salt to tea; add eggs and boil in mixture for 20 minutes.
- Remove shells; serve cold.
