  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease loaf pan.
  3. Cream butter in mixer.
  4. Add sugar gradually and beat until light and fluffy.
  5. Add beaten eggs and continue to cream.
  6. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in separate bowl.
  7. Add flour mixture alternately with milk to butter mixture.
  8. Remove 2/3 of batter from bowl.
  9. Add spices and molasses to remaining 1/3 of batter and beat well.
  10. Alternate light and dark batters in greased loaf pan.
  11. Bake for one hour.
