Marble Squares
"This is another recipe clipping that Mom collected. I am sure there is one here on Zaar, but I just want to put it here for safe keeping. These are all cut out of magazines and I have no idea which magazine or paper they came from. Some are even newspaper clippings."

- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- margarine
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1.5 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄2 cup dairy sour cream
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces
directions
- Combine cream cheeseand sugar, stirring until well blended.
- Add egg and mix well.

- Combine water,margarine, and chocolate in a sauce pasn and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in combined flour and sugar.
- Add eggs, sour cream, soda, and salt and mix well.
- Pour into a greased and floured 15-1/2 X 10-1/2 inch jelly roll pan.
- Spoon Cheese mixture over the chocolate batter.
- Cut through batter several times with a knife for the marble effect.
- Sprinkle with chocolate pieces.
- Bake at 375* for 25-30 12-14min or until a wooden pick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
