  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add egg, syrup and molasses.
  • Mix in sifted dry ingredients.
  • Cool dough overnight or at least 4 hours.
  • (If you are in a hurry I have put the dough in freezer for 1/2 hour or so.) Roll small balls (small tbls) and roll in sugar.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 350 degrees 10-12 minutes.
  • Don't overbake.
  • Note from Mariane: I sometimes even use almost 1/3 c each of the syrup and molasses.
  • Makes them chewier.

  1. This IS a very chewy cookie! I doubled the amount of ginger and it was very nice! A bit sweeter than what I'm used to.
