- 1 large garlic clove
- 1 large onion
- olive oil
- 3 cans tuttarosa crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
directions
- In a frying pan, saute garlic and onion in olive oil. As the onion and garlic become saturated, add salt, sugar, oregano, basil, parsley and pepper. Continue to saute until slightly brown.
- Empty 3 cans tomatoes in a large pot. Add 1/2 can water for each can of tomatoes. Drain sauteed garlic and onion mixture and add to sauce. Simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes.
- By adding flavorings to the garlic and onion while frying you are locking in the flavor! That is the secret. Enjoy.
