Marinara Sauce

"I found this recipe in a cookbook that I bought at work. A group of employees submitted a fave recipe and they sold the cookbook for a charity. This person wanted to remain anonymous."

directions

  • In a frying pan, saute garlic and onion in olive oil. As the onion and garlic become saturated, add salt, sugar, oregano, basil, parsley and pepper. Continue to saute until slightly brown.
  • Empty 3 cans tomatoes in a large pot. Add 1/2 can water for each can of tomatoes. Drain sauteed garlic and onion mixture and add to sauce. Simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes.
  • By adding flavorings to the garlic and onion while frying you are locking in the flavor! That is the secret. Enjoy.
