Marinated Ham Biscuits

"Don't know if these are posted or not but they are too good to pass up! This is a recipe my mother has made for years. Every time there is a household or bridal shower these are requested. We have even had to make these for wedding receptions and I make them for our schools graduation dinner. Last year I made 150 of these and they were gone within minutes."

directions

  • Bake the biscuits on 350°F until just very light brown. Cool. Slice biscuits in half horizontally.
  • Place slice of ham and cheese on each biscuit.
  • In a glass bowl melt butter in microwave. Add in mustard. You have to stir up really well to get it incorporated.
  • In 2 large baking pan (15x10-inch) place enough mustard/butter mixture to barely cover the bottom of pan(should use about 4 tbsp).
  • Place biscuits in pan closely together.Spoon remaining butter/mustard on top of each biscuit. Use a teaspoons at a time. Continue until all this mixture has been used.
  • Cover with foil and place in refrigerator for several hours (you can do this up to 24 hours in advance).
  • Bake at 350°F (uncovered) until cheese has melted. Serve.

  1. Made these for my parents this morning and they absolutely loved them! The mustard gives them a special flavor. Will make again. made for Spring PAC,2011.

  2. This is the best stuff I've ever eaten. I have many favorites but this is #1.

  3. I brought these to work at 7 AM today. By 7:05 I was asked for the recipe. These biscuits are super good! I used the Costco dinner rolls from their bakery (36 to a bag) so skipped direction #1. I also used Costco ham and Findlandia Swiss cheese. I didn't have yellow mustard so used spicy brown. I layered the ham between 2 slices of cheese so it would all hold together. I assembled it all the night before and just popped them in the oven for 10-15 minutes in the morning. These may be better with the flaky biscuits but I don't see how it is possible. I will be making these again for Christmas. Gotta go..another co-worker just asked for the recipe!

<img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg">I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to three wonderful children. I also have a terrific, hard-working husband that I made the good choice to marry on September 21,1991. One cat and two dogs complete our happy family!(Update, sad to say that our wonderful cat died a few weeks ago.We will miss her dearly!) I love to cook and try new recipes. My DH's only request when we married was that I not fix the same things over and over. I guess I get the most requests for my vension dishes.DH has hunting friends that will give us their venison if I will fix it for them occasionally. I love to fix mexican, chinese, italian. Love to experiment. I spend at least an hour a day on Zaar. I get up early and read the reviews from the day before to see if there are any interesting recipes that I haven't seen yet. I also love to read the new recipe listings. DD(11) loves Zaar and gets so excited about reading new recipes and she always reminds me to rate the latest one we've tried!! She wants to have her own Zaar account soon! Whole family has to give their rating at the dinner table if I say this came from Zaar. DS(10) Loves to rate the recipes and sometimes says this one should be a 10 or a 50! DD(8) thinks Zaar recipes are a standard way of life! She has her own little rating scale! Dh also likes to rate the recipes but he will usually just say "this one's a keeper" or something to that affect! Can you tell that we all love to eat??
