“This is a very special recipe to me -- and I've given it a very special name. Mary Sattler was my mother. I remember Mom making this dip in the late 40's. We had it quite often -- Friday night's were "party nights". It was when my sisters and I were allowed to share a bottle of "Coke" (there were 4 of us, so we split 2 bottles of Coke). I'm sure Mom found this recipe somewhere -- she was not the type of person to create her own recipes. But I never actually saw her use a recipe -- not a measuring cup or spoon in sight. So I've done my best to come up with measurements that will give you the dip my family grew up loving.”

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. In a med. size bowl, mix cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth.
  2. Add the catsup, Worchestershire sauce and grated onion (or minced onion).
  3. MIx well, let set in refrigerator a few hours or overnight to blend the flavors.
  4. Serve with potato chips or pretzels. Can also be used as a dip for veggies.
  5. Cooking time is actually the time to let the dip blend flavors in the refrigerator.
