  1. Melt the butter in a pot, add finely chopped carrot, potato and roast them for a minute. Add water (with Bouillon or add broth), add masoor dal, which was soaked for half hour. (Drain the water in which dal was soaked.) Season with salt, add marjoram and basil and cook vegetables till soft.
