Maura's Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

"Taste tested and approved by my dog, who steals them off the cooling rack and takes them directly to my bed to eat. She ONLY saves the best treats to eat on the bed, so that is a compliment! I have never met a dog yet who doesn't go crazy for these! This recipe came about with a lot of trial and error, until my dog and I finally agreed that we got it right. Woof and Bone Appitite!"

I love to cook and putter in the kitchen! I come from a long line of fastastic cooks, my Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and so forth were all well known for their recipies. While many people keep family recipes "secret", I believe in sharing them...passing them on is keeping family in spirit with us :) My grandmother made the best beer battered fish, my great grandmother the best apple sauce cake and my Mom...well, everything was good! I am known at work for my Tater Burger Casserole, a family recipe, that looks like dog food but tastes wonderful! Also for my mac and cheese and mock lasagna. And, puddles of lemon cake which is a new recipe to me from a good friend who also is one heck of a cook. I share my home with a maniac Standard Poodle, Maura, who is a ray of sunshine. She loves homemade dog cookies, which is the first recipe I am posting on here. I have been trying to restore and save my favorite cookbook, one that my Mom wrote by hand. I saved it from a fire that destroyed my home, but it's in rough shape from being under 3 feet of debris! Not to worry, it will take time but I think I have all the recipes. Those recipes are part of the tapestry of my life, full of very happy memories that are made to be shared.
