directions

  • In a large mixing bowl add the meats and blend together with your hands.
  • Add the onion, parsley, pepper, and garlic salt. Mix again with your hands until all the seasonings are well blended with the meat.
  • In a bowl beat the eggs until well beaten. While mixing the egg into the meat mixture, add the bread crumbs 1/2 cup at a time until the meat begins to feel slightly firm.
  • Form the meat into 1 1/2" balls with your hands.
  • Gently place in cooking pan so that the meatballs are close but not touching.
  • Cook in pre-heated oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes or until browned.
  • The meatballs will not be fully cooked yet.
  • Add meatballs to your favorite sauce and simmer for one hour. (I usually use my Grandmother's sauce recipe, since this was her meatball recipe. I posted it under Spaghetti Sauce #79000 for anyone who would like it.).

  1. It took a while to cook it, but when it was time to sit down to dinner, my family and i all agreed, it was well worth it

  2. I made these for dinner last night. I was in a rush, so I didn't have time to simmer them in sauce...I just baked for 15 minutes at 350* and then broiled them for another 15. I only had plain bread crumbs, so I used S'kat's Homemade Italian Seasoning (#17718) and added it to the crumbs. These were delicious, but next time I will make sure I have the time to do it right and simmer them! I made 12 jumbo meatballs!! Thanks for posting this! :-)

  3. Great meatballs, my husband ,kids and I loved them. I had some left over so we will look forward to sandwiches!

  4. I love these meatballs. They taste like the ones from Boston Pizza. I opted for the pork and turkey combination, followed the recipe exactly and would do so again. Since I make my own spaghetti sauce and it requires an hour to simmer, I cooked the meatballs together with it for the duration so the meatballs being time consuming was a non-issue. Thank-you for sharing this great recipe.

  5. I used 2 lbs ground beef and 1 lb ground pork, 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs and 2 cloves fresh garlic sauteed with a large minced onion, instead of the garlic salt. Baked the meatballs on my broiler pan in the oven so the fat would drip down away from the meatballs. Simmered the meatballs in the sauce for about 3 hours in the sauce as dinner was delayed, delayed, delayed. The meatballs were excellent and packed away the extras in the freezer for future use. Cant wait to have meatball sandwiches with melted mozzarella cheese over the weekend. I

Tweaks

  1. These were soooo delicious!!! I really appreciated a meatball recipe with no cheese that still tasted amazing! I added twice as much onion and fresh garlic instead of the salt. I also cooked them a tiny bit longer in the oven. Oh my goodness though, yum!

  2. I used 3 cloves of garlic instead of the garlic salt and it worked well. I used pork and beef for mine. The meatballs went into my sauce and we had meatball subs when my DD had a couple of friends over. Great recipe Kim!

  3. These are so delicious and easy to make. I changed the recipe to my liking a little. I used a pound each of grond turkey and ground turkey breakfast sausage. I substituted the garlic salt and minced onion with 3 small cloves of garlic, 1 half of a medium sized red onion and added 1/2 of a green pepper and sauteed those 3 ingredients together. I didn't have any eggs so I substituted with 1/2 cup egg white.

  4. used all turkey & they turned out awesome! also subbed crushed rice crackers & italian seasoning for the breadcrumbs as i am gluten-free & that worked great, in case anyone else needs a gf meatball! i ate half w/ marinara and the next day had the other half with bbq sauce. yummy! thanks for the wonderful recipe!
