  1. The true test of a good meatloaf is how well it slices while hot. This sliced very nicely after the standing time. I used ground turkey and homemade tomato sauce. We enjoyed this for dinner with Recipe #458619 and Recipe #460887. Made for Aussie Swap.

  2. My DH likes his meatloaf made with tomato sauce so I tagged this recipe for him. I used ground round and italian bread crumbs that I had on hand. Think I would add a tablespoon of mustard to get a bit more tanginess instead of sweetness. A very tasty and no fuss meatloaf recipe that I will be making again. Made and reviewed for ZWT 6 - Seasoned Sailor and his Sassy Sirens.

  3. An easy, moist and delicious meatloaf. The recipe was cut in half and I added most of the tomato sauce to the meat, saving only about 2 tablespoons for the topping. I don't care for that thick layer of tomato sauce on meatloaf, and with a light hand used a pastry brush to add a thin layer. Best to let the meatloaf sit for about 15 minutes after cooking to make slicing easier. Perfect amount of sweetness, too. Reviewed for ZWT 6.

  4. This is the absolute "go to" meatloaf! If you want to add other ingredients, you probably can, but as is this is just delicious. I did throw in a handful of diced red bell peppers otherwise made as directed. I think next time I would probably mix 2 Tablespoons of the brown sugar with the tomato sauce to put over the meatloaf as a glaze, and not add any additional in the loaf its self. Thanks for posting this terrific recipe Vicki! Made for 1.2.3 Hits.

  5. This might be thought of as a standard meatloaf recipe, no frills and low risk, but reliable and true. Anyone getting cute with the meatloaf should start here first! Sliced nicely after standing for a while, and everyone here enjoyed it. Made for AZ/NZ swap, Jan. 09.
