  1. Very, very good burgers, did not change or add anything. I also used the hot salsa. Cooked them in my grill pan on the stove top and looking forward doing these on the barbeque this coming summer.

  2. Made this for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup tag game and we weren't disappointed! Made as directed and put these on the BBQ and topped with recipe#480107#480107, tomato, onion and cheese. Thank you for posting a delicious recipe and one I will make again and again.

  3. These are the most delicious burgers. We eat them as a steak instead. I used both chunky salsa and Salsa Verde. Came out great!!!! Also it you allow them to get a little charred on the grill it gives them more flavor.

  4. I prepared these for our margarita night bunch instead of the usual hamburgers. I did just a couple of tweaks, reducing the cornmeal in half, omitting the shredded cheddar and adding a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of the burgers at the end of the grilling. Delicious with lettuce, a slice of beefsteak tomato and a shmear of guacamole! I also offered taco sauce & sliced jalapenos for garnish. Lots of compliments, most had seconds and nearly everyone asked for the recipe. Next time, if grilling, I may add some beaten egg to the mixture as the patties tend to break apart on the grill.

  5. This burger was excellent! I put a spoonful of guacamole on the burger as the only condiment. Ate it with fresh sweet corn on the cob. The flavors just all worked together like they had been made to go together. The only problem was that the burger tended to break apart some when cooking -- but that made no difference in the eating. Just delicious!

Tweaks

  1. These were sensational! I used pork & veal mince, which made for fabulously juicy burgers. Had to use dried cilantro leaves instead of fresh, otherwise followed the recipe, adding a slice of cheese before taking them off the grill. Served with bacon, sauteed onion, red pepper & zucchini mix, guacamole & sour cream. I can't eat bread, so had mine as a plated meal, which was also great. Made for ZWT5 by a Hell's Kitchen Angel.

  2. Very good burgers. I made some minor changes based on what I had on hand. I used all ground beef and I used some leftover deli cheese instead of the cheddar mentioned. The only other change was using a diced jalapeno pepper instead of the canned green chilies. With all these changes I think it is still basically the same recipe which we enjoyed very much and will be making again. Thanks for sharing!
