Microwave Fudge

"Not only is this the easiest fudge to make, it's also the best tasting...well, at least in my opinion. The problem with a lot of fudge recipes is the need for cooking on the stove and a candy thermometer. This is so easy you can have the kids help you make it. UPDATE: I reduced the amount of salt listed due to reviewer feed back and listed it as optional."

  1. I really like no-fail fudge recipes like this this one. Especially when it turns out! This came together so fast I was shocked that the end result was so good! It was very chocolaty and really sweet - which means a little piece goes a long way! It was surprisingly creamy and set up perfectly. I left out the salt because I used salted butter. I lined my pan before pouring the fudge for easier removal. I will definitely make this again and even try experimenting with different flavours of extract - like orange or raspberry. Thanks for sharing!

  2. This is pretty much my DML's recipe for fudge with these changes. 2 lbs powdered sugar instead of the 1, no salt, and 1 tablespoon vanilla. You can use butter or margarine, but I wouldn't use light margarine. We LOVE this recipe! If it thickens before its mixed I've put it back in the microwave just for a few seconds to make it easier to stir. We put ours in a buttered 8x8 pan. When cool, I take mine out of the pan and wrap in foil, and store in the freezer. This way one is less likely to over indulge. Plus if you still have it around on a hot day its pretty refreshing! Thanks for posting.

  3. I didn't add the salt, and i cut the recipe in half and mixed it with Kittencals recipe #257290. This mixture was a lot less runny then the other and started to settle a bit, so I just lopped chunks into the 8x8 while pouring the other in at the same time. Very good, and very easy. Will make again.

  4. Well, since is was easy enough for the kids to help, I had my husband make this. It is a good recipe, but I didn't read it through first. The salt ruined the recipe. I had put it on some cookie trays, but yanked it off after I had a bite. The consistancy was good, the chocolate taste was good, it wasn't too sweet, but the salt just didn't work. So, will keep for ease and expected taste without the salt.

  5. Super fast, super easy and super delicious! What more could you ask for? I made mine with margarine, and it was slightly salty, so I would cut down on the salt next time. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect!
