  • Easiest thing to do first is to peel, core and dice your apples. Make sure they're in pretty small pieces, these are pretty small pies.
  • Make your crust, either from a box or a recipe, whatever works best for you. Divide the crust into little sections and place these in tart foils, making sure you have enough left over for little lattice tops.
  • In pot, melt the butter, then mix the flour to make a roux. Then add the water, the sugars, the vanilla and the cinnamon, slowly making sure everything melts. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat down and let it simmer for awhile.
  • When the sauce is ready, pour it over the apples and mix well. Take this mixture and distribute it evenly amongst your tiny little pie crusts, and cover with a lattice top. Glaze with egg if you wish, and maybe even sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake at 350°F for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Eat them all yourself or give some away! They're adorable!

  1. Well, first off I've never put that much butter in an apple pie in my life, but my daughter and fiance loved the taste. We only used 4 apples, and I think it was still too much apple for the amount of sauce, they were good hot, but very dry the next day. So my suggestion would be to add the apples to the sauce and stop when it is closer to soupy than a coating. We also experimented with the size of the apple, we found the smaller dicing worked better (right side of pictue) - the larger cuts (left side of pictue) left air pockets, Thanks rahrahma, made for My 3-Chefs 2012
