Minnesota Maize Casserole
"Adapted from a boring "hominy casserole" recipe and named for the state in which we lived when we first tried the dish! We love it at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas."

- 2 lbs 2 cans yellow hominy
- 8 ounces mushrooms
- 10 ounces celery soup
- 1 cup ground almonds or 1 cup pecans
- 1⁄2 lb butter
- 1 1⁄2 cups top cream or 1 1/2 cups canned milk
- salt and pepper
- 4 pieces crumbled toast
directions
- Mix together all above ingredients.
- Bake at 350 30-40 minutes.
