Mint-Peas Mashed Potatoes

directions

  • Boil potatoes in salted water until tender when pierced.
  • Drain, return them to the pot, cover and let dry a few minutes.
  • In a little saucepan, heat the milk with peas and mint.
  • Mash the potatoes then add the mixture of peas and butter, to obtain a creamy consistency. Add salt and pepper if you want. And serve.

  3. Excellent British recipe. The mashed potatoes came out nice and creamy. I love the step of heating the milk, it really works well for mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the addition of peas and mint for a nice change of pace from the ordinary mashed potatoes. Made for ZWT8 Great Britain region. Thanks!
     
  4. What can I say....My all time 2 favourite vegetables, rolled into one. My DS & I always mix our pea's with my potatoes when they are served, and DH justs sit's and watches the 2 of us create this mashy mesh to eat and shakes his head in shame! lol<br/>BUT now here is the recipe that does it for you!<br/>I used minted peas, and some dried mint as I did not have any fresh mint, ohhhh and cream and followed the recipe as written......... Ohhhh so smooth and creamy and just divine!!!! DS and I adored these Boomette.<br/>I will be making this recipe a lot more often now! <br/>Thanks for another amazing recipe Boomette.
     
  5. I had some fresh mint that I wasnt sure what to do with...so I made this recipe. Very easy to do, and a tasty side dish.
