"I got this recipe almost 20 years ago from my friend, Miriam. Unlike many apple cakes, it is a breeze to make. The cake is dense and delicious."

  1. This cake came out perfectly - moist and delicious. I used Rome apples. Thanks!

  2. This cake was the BOMB! I made it in a bunt pan. It did require extra cooking time, but turned out great! I took it to work and my co-workers LOVED it! I will save this recipe and make this again, and again.

  3. I thought this was so moist and delicious! My husband asks me to make it again and again! I do agree with others that it does need extra baking time, at least 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.

  4. I substituted splenda and unfortunatly it did not turn out well. Next time I'll try the real thing.

  5. This was really easy to make, non dairy, delicious. I added pecans instead of walnuts which was delicious. I had to bake the cake for over an hour but that may have been my oven...next time I would use less sugar, maybe 1 cup or even 3/4 of a cup because I dont like sweet cakes, but even for my tastes, it wasn't tooooo sweet. The house smelled amazing and everyone loved it. very moist...
