Mocha Brownie Cookies With Coffee Frosting

ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 1⁄2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1⁄3 teaspoon baking soda
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

COFFEE FROSTING
- 5 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 cup baking cocoa
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1⁄3 cup brewed coffee
directions
- combine all ingredients in order listed -- mix well.
- drop by tblsful onto ungreased baking sheets, bake at 350* for 10 minutes.
- cool on wire rck.
- frost --
- makes about 1 1/2 dozen.

to prepare COFFEE FROSTING:
- combine the first 3 ingredients, gradually blend in coffee until desired spreading consistency -- is reached.

I did not try the brownies (yet), but I did make the coffee frosting to put on top of a cake I made for Mother's Day. Holy cow - it was so good, I also iced some powdered sugar cookies I made recently with it. The coffee made it so delightfully rich!

I love cooking, and reading Christian fiction..I have 5 grandchildren..4 boys and 1 spoiled granddaughter...I also have a black cocker spaniel named Tobey..who is very spoiled..Love computer games, cross stitch and reading cookbooks..I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia almost a year ago, on September 26, 2005....was in an out of the hospital for 8 months, doing intensive chemo...I am doing well now, thanks for all the prayers...
