Mom's Beer Burgers

"My mother used to make these at a concession stand she had rented right by a lake. Some people would come to just eat and not swim. The sauce can also be used for hot dogs, etc."

  1. Great sauce, especially if you are a little short on time. The only sub I made was to replace 2 oz. of the ketchup with a sweet, mild chili sauce - just right! Dipped some peel-and-eat shrimp in it, too.

  2. I recently had a hamburger at a flea market (of all places...) that was delicious. Discovered she precooked the burgers, then let them simmer in a crockpot full of onion soup. This seems an easy way to feed people arriving at different times; provide a few sauces and condiments, let family and guests make their own...most people will think it's delicious, and you have time to socialize, get on-line and read recipes, etc!
