Mom's Cornbread Stuffing

"This is my mom's recipe. Normally I'm not a huge stuffing fan, but one Thanksgiving several years ago she made this on a whim and we've never looked back. The combination of sausage, dried cranberries, and pecans make it both savory and sweet."

  • Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions (typically 3 cups water and 1/4 cup butter).
  • Saute onion and celery in 1/4 cup butter until translucent.
  • Brown Italian sauage.
  • Combine all ingredients in lightly greased 13" x 9" pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
