"We've enjoyed this recipe from 2001; it comes by way of my mom, but I'm not sure where she found it. My family likes it because it is simple, tasty, and refreshing. We've had the recipe at holiday dinners and on typical summer evenings."

  • Drain beans, and put in a large bowl.
  • Combine sugar, vinegar, salad oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour mixture over beans, and toss.
  • Chill overnight.
  • Before serving, tossing again, and drain.
