  1. Fry bacon, remove from the skillet and crumble.
  2. In the bacon fat, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, celery seed and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat.
  4. Stir in the cabbage and apple.
  5. Simmer about 1 minute.
  6. Sprinkle bacon on top and serve hot.
