- 3⁄4 cup shortening (partal butter if wanted)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla (or lemon flavor)
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
directions
- Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Chill for 1 hour.
- Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutter.
- Bake at 400 degrees from 6-8 minutes.
- Make sure you bake in the very middle of the oven or the bottoms will be too brown.
