Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 12 cup minced onion
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes (including juice)
  • salt, pepper, chili powder & cumin
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans red beans (including juice)
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages cornbread mix

Directions

  1. Brown and drain hamburger; add minced onion and tomatoes; simmer for about 30 minutes stirring often.
  2. Season to taste with salt, pepper, chili powder & cumin. Add red beans; simmer for about 15 minutes longer.
  3. Put mixture in greased baking dish.
  4. Mix up cornbread according to package directions and drop by spoonfuls onto meat mixture.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes.
  6. Spoon it up and slather with catsup (optional).
