Directions

  1. Pour boiling water over oats and margarine in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in sugars and add eggs.
  4. Add dry ingredients.
  5. Stir in half of chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13-inch pan.
  7. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and nuts over cake.
  8. (or you can add the nuts to the batter instead) Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
