- 1 lb plain yogurt
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 lemons, grated rind and juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 20 chestnut mushrooms, trimmed and wiped
- 16 small bay leaves
directions
- Into the yogurt mix the garlic, lemon, salt and garam masala.
- Put the mushrooms in a bowl and pour over the marinade. Mix well then cover and chill for at least 4-5 hours.
- Soak 4 bamboo skewers in hot water for 30 minutes. Thread mushrooms, alternately with bay leaves onto skewers.
- Barbecue or grill for 8-10 minutes, turning frequently and brushing with marinade during cooking.
- Serve with a tomato and onion salad and naan bread.
