directions

  • In a large mixing bowl beat together vanilla pudding mix and milk for 2-3 minutes until it begins to thicken. Blend in the sweetened condensed milk and mix until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and fold in the thawed Cool Whip.
  • In a 13x9x2 glass dish layer the bottom with Nilla wafers, add a layer of sliced bananas over top of wafers. Pour enough pudding mixture over top of the first layer of wafers and bananas to cover, leaving some pudding for more layers.
  • Repeat layers of wafers, bananas and pudding.
  • End with a few wafers on top.

  1. I used the large box of vanilla pudding. That along with the extra cup of milk pudding calls for, made this recipe where it was not too sweet. I also used more cookies and bananas and a large container cool whip, half in recipe, half on top.

  2. I like this recipe and used it as a guide. As for instant pudding, I used one packet of Jell-O's Simply Good Vanilla Bean. I also made my own whipped cream in place of Cool Whip --with 8oz heavy whipping cream, 2 Tbsp sugar and splash of vanilla -- cold bowl and balloon whisk -- very easy and isn't 15 ingredients! I followed the procedure and let it chill over night. I just tasted it and I feel it is sickeningly sweet. I wish I had used just half the can of sweetened condensed milk. As for texture, it is pudding-like (not soupy at all) and quite nice. Even with less condensed milk, I think the texture will still be great. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

  3. The finished product looked very inviting, and it tasted great as well. However, I do believe it's too sweet. But all in all, it's a great recipe.

  4. my wife uses 2- 5oz cans Evaporated milk adding 1 cup sugar, heating until dissolved in place of sweetened condensed milk. She also uses 2 tubs of whip topping, 1 just for the top, helps cut some of the sweetness from the pudding

  5. I made this recipe just without the whipped cream, my husband doesn't like whipped cream. It still turned out AMAZING and was SUPER EASY to make! I doubled the recipe bc we have a big family && LOVE banana pudding!??

Tweaks

  1. Instead of the Cool Whip, I used heavy whipping cream.

  2. I think the whole 14oz can of SCMilk is too sweet. Add it gradually to the mixture until you find the sweetness you like. I should've done that in the first place. I'd say no more than half the can unless you want it really sweet!

  3. I didn't have sweetened condensed milk, so I substituted evaporated milk with half a cup of sugar. It was the best I have had :D Great Recipe!!
