My Kidz Favorite Pork Chops

"This recipe will fall off of the bone. Don't be alarmed by the beer, as it will cook off while the pork chops are braising. If you would like, you can substitute Chicken Broth or Vegetable Broth for the beer. The flavors will give you a tangy taste with not too much effort. Great for unexpected guests. I posted this recipe on another site, but I want to keep all of my recipes together in one place. You can either cook the chops on top of the range or throw them into the oven on a low temperature (about 300 degrees for 1 - 2 hours). Serve with white rice."

 1. I made this for my family tonight and it was really delicious!! Interesting taste, with the beer, but it cut the bbq sauce so it wasn't too sweet or spicy. I used a dark red beer since that's what I had, and it was really good. I'll make this again!! Thanks!

 2. This definitely made pork steak shine. I followed the instructions but elected to use the oven method suggested. I used a craft beer and a honey bbq sauce on 4 very large bone in pork steaks. They were very tender, well flavored, and enjoyed. They was a ton of tasty sauce. I would cut the sauce ingredients in half if using regular chops. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

 3. MMMMMMM made this tonight and it was very good! This recipe has a lot of possabilities, I want to try it with boneless country ribs and DH wants to try it with chicken.

 4. It was good, I can see the potential, maybe I didn't use a BBQ sauce that was right for the recipe.

 5. We really liked these. This is a great weeknight recipe that you can let simmer away while you catch up on a few things before dinner. I used a good German beer and took your suggestion on the BBQ sauce. Thanks for sharing, we enjoyed them. *Made for Fall PAC 2008*

I used to spend my summers with my grandmother in Northern Connecticut. She was a wonderful little Norwegian woman that stood about 5 feet high. My grandfather was a Swedish ship captain that stood well over 6 feet tall. My grandmother would wake up at 5 in the morning just to start making her bread (that had been proofing in the oven all evening) I would anxiously await the warm, crusty, tremendously tasty bread spread with home made strawberry jam or any other berry that she might have picked in the neighbors yard. These memories of her and her patience in the kitchen with me made me the cook I am today. Not a day passes when I don't think of her...a smile crosses my face and I know she's in the room with me, making sure her measurements are just right.
