  1. This was great. I tweaked it a bit since I didn't have allspice (added a very small dash of nutmeg, very subtle and nice flavor). added a few tsp of turmeric, beef bouillon, cooked my chili with a bottle of red beer, and salt. Turned out great, can't wait to have it in a few hours for the Superbowl after it's all simmered together.

  2. Halfway through making my favorite chili recipe I realized I was just about out of chili powder, A quick web search brought me here. I quickly mixed up a batch and proceeded with the recipe. We just finished our dinner and everyone loved it , saying it was an especially tasty batch. I'll never use store bought again.

  3. I made this today and used it as an ingredient in Spanish rice. Very nice flavor. Didn't have the allspice and substituted more paprika for the cayenne (I was cooking for my dad, who doesn't like spicy food), but it still turned out well. I will use this recipe for my chili powder from now on.

  4. I used this spice blend in Recipe #3478 with great results. Chili powder here in Australia is just ground red chilli's...hot hot! This is what I'll use when a recipe calls for a blend. Thanks for sharing.

  5. This is easy to make and tasty too! I used it in a rub for a pork roast. Looking forward to using it in chili. I don't buy commercial chili powder because most of it has too much salt, so this will be a staple here! Made for Spring 2008 PAC.
