ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter
- 1⁄4 cup white sugar
- 5 teaspoons cocoa
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 3⁄4 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped almonds
- 1 cup coconut

Second layer
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla custard powder
- 2 cups icing sugar

Third Layer
- 4 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
- 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
directions
- Melt the first three ingredients in top of double broiler.
- Add egg and stir to cook and thicken.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Press firmly into a ungreased 8x8 pan.
- --------Secondlayer--------.
- Cream together butter, cream, custard powder and icing sugr.
- Spread over bottom layer.
- ------ThirdLayer------.
- Melt chcolate and butter over low heat.
- Cool.
- Whe cool but still liquid pour over second layer and chill well in refirgerator.
- Cut into bars and serve.

I had this recipe years ago and seem to have lost it, this is our favourite bar recipe after trying it in Canada a long time ago. We cant get Graham Crackers here so I used 1 packet of digestive biscuits (minus 3 biscuits) and for the chocolate layer I used a medium size block of Energy chocolate. (a dark Cadbury brand chocolate) Love them!!
