I'm sorry that WJKing had unsuccessful results with this recipe. I have made it a zillion times with the same delicious results. I just made it for Thanksgiving and it was delicious...as always. I reread the recipe and there was an error when it was transposed. It should read.....1 'small' can of crushed pineapple. Perhaps WJ used a large can. Also, as stated, the mandarin oranges should be drained....perhaps she didn't drain them. I have molded the recipe but prefer to serve it in a glass brandy sniffer or another glass serving bowl. One less step to think about. Please try it again WJ and let me know the results. You thought, perhaps, it should be 6 oz of Jello. No.....a 3 oz package is correct.

This was a really great FLAVORED jello salad, but it did NOT mold. I followed directions exactly. The only thing I can figure out is that the mandarin oranges & crushed pineapple should've been the smaller can sizes. (I just emailed this question to Recipezaar, so hopefully this will not happen for others.) I was really disappointed. I made this for my DH's Thanksgiving dinner, and it was REALLY soup-y. Maybe it should've been 6 oz. jello? Less fruit?? Dunno - flavor was great, and I will try it again provided the recipe is corrected. Thanks for sharing. The flavor was great! Just disappointing consistency.
