Nanny's Comfort Green Beans

"A Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter favorite that my Mom made. The size of the green bean cans is approximate, we get the big cans of Hanover w/ the little taters in them."

  • Drain one can of green beans completely. Then drain almost all of the other can, but reserve some for flavor. Put beans into pot and cover with water. Add onion, fat, and sugar. Cook on low/med-low for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on how soft you like your beans. Remember to stir occasionally!
