Nat's Sub Sauce

"This is a topping for cold sandwich subs. This is better if it sits for a bit, but not necessary."

  1. This recipe gets a BIG NO for me. This "sub sauce" will ruin a cold-cut sandwich faster than throwing it on a dirty floor and then stomping on it. I wish I had not bought into the rave reviews and made a triple sized batch of it - what a waste. In the garbage it goes, though. I suggest equal parts mayo and brown mustard, and a pinch of thyme, oregano, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. (a pinch is about 1/4 tsp.)

  2. I ALMOST passed on this recipe, thinking it wouldn't work for my needs, but am very glad I gave it a shot! I omitted the olive oil because I am watching my fat content, and the result was still so flavorful & easy. I used fat free mayo & messed around a bit with the spice amounts, but stayed true to the recipe. Am gonna have it on my vegetarian "salami" sandwich tomorrow night & I cannot wait! I've been looking for a sandwich spread forever that was full of great herbs & flavor but wasn't full of fat & calories. Thanks so much for sharing this!

  3. This really perks up a sandwich Nat! I made turkey bacon club sandwiches for a hockey buffet tonight and they looked and tasted awesome. This is so simple and uses ingredients that most people would have on hand. Thanks for posting!

  4. I couldn't find sub sauce in the store, so I decided to try this recipe. I left the onion powder out because I didn't have any. It was delicous, a big improvement to my turkey and cheese

  5. Adds all kinds of flavor to a sandwich. I did use half mayo and half Miracle Whip though.
