Nayne's Cornbread Stuffing

"Light and tasty stuffing with that Southern cornbread flavor. I experimented for years and my family says this one "hit the mark" I better not show up for Thanksgiving without this stuffing!"

  • make cornbread and crumble in very large bowl. add all stuffing mix and cubes, poultry seasoning. Fry six slices bacon; drain (reserve drippings) crumble bacon and add to bread bowl. chop celery, bell pepper, onions and garlic and fry in bacon drippings till tender crisp; add to bowl. Mix soups and 2 cans of broth in a small bowl until blended; stir into bread mix. Continue to add broth until desired consistency is achieved.
  • SPOON INTO LARGE TURKEY ROASTER OR LASAGNA PAN, COVER WITH FOIL AND BAKE AT 350 DEG. FOR 30 MINUTES; REMOVE FOIL AND BAKE 20 MINUTES MORE OR UNTIL BROWN ON TOP.
