  1. I made this recipe for freezing in portion sizes for my husband as I'm going away on holidays. It is a perfect base for loads of other spaghetti meat sauces and is lovely on it's own. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

  2. Considerably different from the sauces I usually make, but that's not a problem, since we both do like variety! I did, however, cut the sugar back to just 1/4 cup & didn't add any water since we usually like our sauces thick! Served enough for the 2 of us & hen packaged the rest of it in 2-serving portions for the freezer! Great sauce, we thought! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed in Zaar Stars Tag]

  3. This sauce is so yummy and easy to do. I used 1 small onion. I used lean ground beef. I didn't want to use 1/2 cup sugar so I used only 1 tablespoon. No garlic salt for us. And I didn't have to add water. I let it simmer covered. Thanks Nikki :) Made for 123 hit wonders

  4. This is different from most of the spaghetti sauces that I make. I usually make thick ones that are more meat than tomato sauce! This was a nice change and my family enjoyed the sweetness of it. Served with spaghetti and some freshly grated parmesan. Made for Went to the Market tag. Thanks AZPARZYCH! :)

  5. Lovely flavour from this sauce. I also reduced the sugar as I'm watching calories and simmered it for 30 minutes. Thanks for a great spaghetti sauce!

Tweaks

  1. Great spaghetti sauce that reminds me of the sauce that my Mom made, minus the chopped tomatoes and added sugar. I made this using meatballs instead of browning the meat and onions but then followed the recipe except for I only used 1/4 of the amount of sugar (2 tbsps). I didn't add the optional water, and that was a nice thickness for the sauce for our tastes. Made for PAC Fall 09.
