No- Bake Chewy Cookies and Cream Bars

"I found this recipe on picky-palate.com. It's similar to rice krispy treats, but uses oreo cookies instead. The yield said 9 large bars, but I cut mine small, because they are rich."

 • Place oreos into food processor and pulse until ground. Melt butter and marshmallows in microwave until puffed; about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Remove and pour in ground oreos. Stir to combine and then press into foil lined 8x8 inch baking pan. Let set up for 10 minutes. Remove bars out of pan with edges of foil and cut into squares.

 1. I gave this three stars because it was good, but I wouldn't make it again. The prep for these is not worth the outcome (although I will admit that I messed up and microwaved the butter separately from the marshmellows, which makes it MUCH harder to get the melted marshmellows out of the bowl, and creates a ridiculous mess to clean up.) My bars never did quite harden (not even a little) but I may have used a little too much butter. These are VERY rich, so if that's what you're taste buds are looking for, this is for you!

My first experiences with cooking began as a young child; I would guess I was about 9. Peanut butter bars were my specialty; I must have made them once a month. I often "let" my little sister help in the kitchen. My job was to sit on the counter & give out the orders. Her job was to retrieve mixing bowls & ingredients & hand them to me so I could put them in. Every once in awhile I would let her crack an egg or mix something in! I'm not sure why she holds this over my head; I did let her help me!
8761337"
