  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add milk, vanilla, and peanut butter.
  3. Slowly stir in sugar, cocoa, and chopped peanuts, if using.
  4. Bring to a boil and boil five minutes for gooey cookies, or seven for firmer cookies.
  5. Let cool slightly.
  6. Meanwhile, measure and pour oatmeal into a large mixing bowl.
  7. Pour chocolate syrup from the sauce pan into the oatmeal. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Drop by the rounded tablespoonfuls onto a baking pan and allow to cool.
  9. Enjoy!
